Janet Wallace Parking Lot

In 2011, the parking lot and rain garden behind Janet Wallace was redesigned to direct and treat storm water before it reaches the Mississippi River. The first half-inch of rainfall on asphalt carries the highest population of pollutants. This water is directed into the rain garden by sloping the parking lot, so the plants can filter the rainfall, removing 70-80% of pollutants. Check out the cool infograph below to learn more!
