Living Laboratory Case Study: Sustainability and the Campus

Course: Sustainability and the Campus

Instructor: Dr. Suzanne Savanick Hansen

In this project-based class, the students examine campus resource and energy flows and have the opportunity to combine theory with application through a real-world campus sustainability project. Class projects have included "Turn Out the Lights" signage for the dorms and translated into languages for the language houses. Students also recommended actions to improve the sustainability of the Center for Religious and Spiritual Life as well as the Athletics Department. Additional students analyzed the options for the green roofs and explored bird safe glass.
