40% of the World Population is Affected by Water Scarcity

On March 15th, Water and Waste Digest published an article discussing water scarcity. They stated that the World Bank and the U.N. have claimed that 40% of the world population is affected by water scarcity. According to the report, 700 million people could be displaced due to water scarcity by 2030, and more than two billion people are forced to consume unsafe drinking water. They urge that water must be managed better, emphasizing that lack of water will only become a more pressing issue if the status quo remains unchanged.
