Macalester Named a 2016 U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon School

Across the country, 47 schools, 15 districts, and 11 postsecondary institutions are being honored for their innovative efforts to reduce environmental impact and utility costs, improve health and wellness, and ensure effective sustainability education. Macalester College has a long-standing tradition of sustainability particularly as it relates to Macalester's broader commitments to internationalism, multiculturalism, and service to society.

The U.S. Secretary of Education sent Macalester a congratulatory letter about being a 2016 U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon Schools Postsecondary Sustainability Awardee.
